I have always enjoyed being in the great outdoors. When I moved to Colorado, I fell in love with mountain sports. Like many in Colorado, I enjoyed skiing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, etc. After suffering from the occasional misaligned hip or shoulder caused by repetitive sports, stress, and carrying my little ones, I started practicing yoga to bring my body back into balance. 

 

I began growing awareness for my breath and movement which helped me quiet compensations and stay balanced. I was intrigued and felt inspired to teach. Eventually I left corporate life and began teaching movement and breath full-time, over 15 years ago.

 

Some of the students coming to my classes had chronic pain. Although yoga practices were calming for them, their pain was aggravated moving in and out of basic poses. Seeing this opened my mind to studying movement as therapy. I was intrigued by the relationship between muscles, kinetic chains of movement, and how compensations can lead to injury. 

 

I started studying all things movement. For the last 10 years I have been increasing my knowledge base for functional movement and breath. I am certified as a Yoga Therapist, personal trainer, NeuroKinetic Therapy practitioner, Buteyko breathing coach, Restore Your Prana breathing coach and a Reiki Energy healer. I now specialize in working with people privately to eliminate pain by changing the way they move and breathe.

 

I have been blessed with opportunities to teach a variety of students over the years, from beginner to advanced yogis, athletes to seniors, disabled students as well as people with pain. My students inspire me to continue growing as a teacher. I am truly passionate about teaching students how to move better and breathe better!

Yoga Therapist C-IAYT, E-RYT 200 Yoga Alliance, Certified Personal Trainer ACE, NeuroKinetic Therapy Practitioner Level 2, Reiki Energy Healer.

 

I have a strong background in athleticism, completing triathlons, half marathons and century bike rides. I’m trained in martial arts and kick boxing. I am a lover of the outdoors and mountain sports.
